You’ve got kisses on your breath
fire on your tongue
oceans in your eyes
rolling, rolling
currents in your shoulders
circuits in your joints
sparks in your fingers
leaping, leaping
reaching through the stratosphere
stretching for the moon
burning in the sun
dying, dying
We die a little every day
Every breath rebels against
the little deaths we share
There are stains on my shirt
There are scars on your chest
We’re a little worse for wear, but
we’ll make it
